Born in 1896 in Hanover, Germany, Rudolf Meyer studied theology, philosophy and Germanic languages before becoming a priest in the newly-founded Christian Community. He worked in Breslau and Prague, the Ruhr district, during the war in Zurich, and later in Karlsruhe.
