With a father and grandfather who served with distinction in two World Wars, BRUCE QUARRIE grew up with a fascination for military history. Born in 1947, he graduated with honours from Cambridge University in 1968 and worked as a journalist with the Financial Times. He edited Military Illustrated for a number of years, and is now established as a full-time writer. Bruce's definitive Encyclopaedia of the German Army was even translated and published in German. JEFFREY BURN is a distinguished artist who has worked on several Osprey publications over the years, including Men-At-Arms 230: The US Army 1890-1920, and Men-At-Arms 34: The Waffen-SS.
