About the author. In 1962 John Stormer left a successful career as editor and general manager of a leading electrical magazine to write. His first book, None Dare Call It Treason, was a runaway best-seller in 1964. It was widely distributed by those supporting the Presidential campaign of Senator Barry Goldwater. His four books have sold over 10-million copies. He was called to preach soon after trusting Jesus Christ to be his Savior and Lord in 1965. As a best selling author, pastor and Christian school superintendent, John Stormer has encouraged many to fulfill their responsibilities to their families, the Lord and America. His Growing Up God's Way is a guide for getting children ready for school and life from birth on. Published in 1984 it has become the most widely distributed book on marriage, family and child rearing from a Biblical perspective. He was president of the Missouri Association of Christian schools for ten years. Since 1977 he has conducted weekly Bible studies in the Missouri Capitol for members of the legislature. He publishes Understanding The Times, a periodic newsletter analyzing significant news developments in foreign policy, politics, education, religion and economics. He speaks regularly in Bible conferences and Understanding The Times seminars. A native of Altoona, Pennsylvania, he attended the Pennsylvania State University and graduated from California's San Jose State University after Korean War service as an Air Force editor and historian. He is a member of the American Legion and the Council For National Policy. He has honorary degrees from Manahath School of Theology (1965) and Shelton College (1976).
